What kept you busy this past weekend?
On Friday, we went with our granddaughter to see Lincoln with tremendous acting performances by Daniel Day Lewis, Sally Field and a very talented supporting cast. It was so well done it was like being a bystander to history in the making. I can certainly envision the Academy giving him a nod for a nomination this year.
I also finished one book and started on another. If you read mysteries, I pin the ones I enjoy on Pinterest.
Saturday evening, we watched Trouble with the Curve with fine performance by Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake. I am at an age where I actually remember watching Clint Eastwood play Rowdy Yates on Rawhide. It was a good movie about relationships and the aging process. Any seniors can appreciate his character’s comments about the garage door opening seeming to shrink.
But, with snow and ice outside and the pellet stove roaring inside, I spent most of my time at the sewing machine.
I had a couple of small things I wanted to finish.
And, now I’d better get this material cut out for my grandchildren’s pajamas. I’ll let you guess who gets the blue and who gets the cheetah print.
Tomorrow I have the first of 2013 Master Gardener Meetings to plan our June Plant Sale. It’s good to even think about gardening with two feet of snow still on the ground.
Have a great week whether you’re able to go outside and garden, camp, go adventure seeking, or are inside planning your 2013 garden, sewing, crafting, quilting or reading a good book.

I agree with you that after Christmas events have ended, it’s time to get domestic again! Your coffee mug rugs are great and the kids will love their warm pjs! I picked up a baby quilt I had put aside months ago and am now nearly done with the hand stitching. Best time of the year for things like that!

I love your sewing projects! I keep saying I am going to make some place mats but I haven’t gotten them done. Maybe this year? I really have to get my sewing machine out this year. Last year held no sewing motivation — hopefully this year will.
Glad to her Lincoln was so good. We almost never GO to the theater but I already have that one on my Netflix list for eventually!

Love the sewing projects. I like to read mysteries as well and I have read some of the ones that you have pinned. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. I never thought about pinning or posting the books I’ve read.

Beautifully made – you are very clever! Lucky grandchildren with those `jamas – do you have `Onesies` in the States? A sort of adult all inclusive romper suit that the youngsters and even their parents are adopting for snuggling up in the evening. Some have ears and tails too

Oh, now that is a hoot. No, I haven’t seen Onesies except for babies. I certainly had a chuckle envisioning it though.

I did a whack of knitting, but spent Sunday tending my suddenly very sick daughter. (She’s getting much better, but my plans hadn’t included a trip to the hospital!)
Love your wee rugs–what a lovely design!

These mug rugs are so cute and that material looks so soft and comfy for pj’s ! I remember watching “Rawhide” on my grandparents black and white TV with them !

I am embarrassed to ask but what’s a mug rug?

Don’t be – it is the fancy new title for a coaster that is big enough for your cup plus a couple of cookies. Type ‘mug rug’ in on Pinterest, and you won’t believe it. 🙂
