- Paths shoveled to the barn and coop.

- Table at chicken coop.

- Compost bin is buried.

- Arbor and raised beds snowed in.

- No place left to shovel it.

We kept hearing this forecast in Virginia and were happy it skipped us for the first weekend in four weeks, but hate you guys are getting buried. Be safe and warm.

I always like being snowed in because it is a good excuse to shut down your life temporarily…. unfortunately the dangers and inconveniences get in the way of total enjoyment. Hope things are back to normal soon for you.

Oh my! I am cold just looking at your pictures — I heard the weather forecast and was worried you were right in the path. Stay warm!

It was cold, but we were so lucky to not lose power so we were warm. I wore two pairs of gloves with a pair of mittens on top to keep my fingers from freezing. We’ve got to clean up one more time today because we have more snow coming tomorrow.

Well done for great photos – Hope it’s getting easier to get out and about now. The news of this snowfall reached UK over the weekend – it looked like an overwhelming amount of snow. Should it cross the Atlantic to Britain, the whole country will cease to function and it will be a national crisis – as usual!

I smiled when reading your comment because we moved here from the Midwest and when it snowed 2″ there everything shut down. Here they have snow plows that are so large they look like alien beings and move down the turnpikes four abreast. So, if people stay home while they are clearing the roads, life goes on. Well, as long as you don’t get tired of shoveling and plowing. 🙂

Thanks for your reply. I must say the pictures on the news of the snow ploughs and clearing equipment looked phenomenal and very strong, but by contrast the fall snow you’ve had was so great, that the commonly used,mighty handshovel looked like a very inadequate tool indeed! So far, central UK has been very lucky – we’ve had snow overnight but it’s melting already, so life on Monday should proceed as usual!

It looks very beautiful, but also intimidating. I wouldn’t know how to function. A few inches is the most we’ve ever had down here near Houston.

Well…there are some times like this past storm when we wondered if we can push all that snow somewhere so we can function. But, we got it cleared off, and I wish you could see out my window right now – it is a blizzard!

I hope that some of it has melted a bit by now ? Love the door and window pics because you really get a sense of how deep it was. Last time we had two feet was back in 2010 and that is alot of snow to deal with, I know. YOU had the blowing and drifting too I imagine, which makes it all the worse.

We had a couple of inches melt but as I look out the window it is snowing again. We’re not making much progress toward spring up this way and I’m sure ready for some ‘green.’ 🙂
