To answer your question about my lavender, it gets excellent drainage growing on the slope and is mulched with crushed red brick to hold in the heat. I prune it hard in the spring when the buds break and then a light pruning after the first flush of flowers.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I have never heard of crushed red brick mulch but it sounds great. And, I think I may have some of mine in areas that retain moisture. I’ll assess and move around next week so they may have a better start in the spring.
