You aren’t alone. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this type of wood pile. It’s almost like a work of art. 🙂

After your winter, I bet a big stockpile of wood is in order! Is it true that the snow is all melted???? Have a great trip my friend!

The snow finally melted although the mountain areas did get some last weekend. I’m really hoping we are done with winter. 🙂

This photo describes the ethic of New Englanders: neat and tidy, well prepared and self sufficient.
With everything left in order, I think you can be cleared for travel! Enjoy! Wish i was there! 🙂

This just blew me away when I drove by it. Oh, I can just imagine how many ideas for art projects you get traveling over there. 🙂

Wow! How big is that thing? I assume it is not yours since you use your pellet stove but that thing is awesome!

Is that a hoot or what? I drove by it, did a double take, kept going to finish my errands and went right back to get a photo. It was huge, and I’m still amazed at it. 🙂

Strange stacking arrangement.

My husband did this one year with our firewood, I think the idea originates in Germany. Frost heaves brought it tumbling down by late winter, however. Guess Bavaria doesn’t get as cold as New England!

Thank you. I had never seen it, so it’s good to know where it came from. 🙂

I’ve seen some cool ones also. This one is great, as the homeowner did it. The ones I see are at firewood suppliers. The reasoning behind it is to keep airflow through the stack. It keeps the wood dry and doesn’t hold moisture. So it’s not just another pretty stack of wood 😉
