Weekly Photo Challenge: Beneath Your Feet

Trier, Germany, manhole cover

In May this year, while walking the streets of Trier, Germany, I saw this sewer manhole cover. Why did I stop to take a photo? Well, manhole covers here in the United States are mostly serviceable and all the same. But, in other countries they are more intriguing and could be called artistic or handsome. That’s what I saw here when I noticed the City of Trier’s Coat of Arms emblazoned on it. 🙂

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Beneath Your Feet.”

So, to me it looks like one of the apostles holding the key to heaven! Lovely work. Lots of pride in that city when attention is paid to sewer covers too – the finishing touch on everything!

That would have stopped me, too and I know I would have had to take its picture. So different from anything you would see here. It perfectly tits the challenge, too!
