In 99.9% of my entries on Thursday Doors, I only wish I knew who lived behind the doors I photograph.
But this week is different because I know who lives in this house – our wonderful friends. These two special people are the kind you dream about living next door to because of their intelligence, kindness, integrity, and community involvement.
It was built in the 1890’s and is located in the historic district of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. For over 30 years, they have lived in this beautiful home where they raised three sons.
We treasure our relationship with this couple and always look forward to spirited conversations about a wide variety of topics including gardening for me and golfing for my husband.
She has a smaller garden than I do, but can boast being on the Portsmouth Pocket Garden Tour not once but twice. It is a lovely, manicured area with beautiful garden art. He and my husband are golfing partners and always have a story to tell.
It’s fun knowing who lives behind the door this week and sharing just a little bit about them, but the most wonderful thing is that I’m fortunate enough to call them ‘friends.’ 🙂
