I was taking similar photos of damp plants and flowers yesterday! Today, it’ll be chilly plants and flowers–our temps have plunged. Yours, too? Love the peonies, and the hostas, and . . . everything!

Our temps are going down into the mid 40’s several nights this week. What the heck – this is crazy even for global warming.

After a few weeks of unseasonably hot and humid weather, we’re also into rain and cold! I wore a sweater inside all day yesterday. Crazy!

It’s absolutely crazy weather. I understand late springs and early winters, but this is just like a pendulum swinging back and forth. The plants must be confused because I know I am. 🙂

Last night, it poured in central Maine, and I must admit that as a gardener, torrential rain makes me nervous. Looked out this morning, and so far, so good.

We have had fierce rain and light drizzle, but we’ve also had some hideous winds. I keep looking out too to make sure everything is still standing. 🙂

Same here! Oh, how I hate that kind of rain and wind this time of year. Makes me so nervous for my flowers. Some of the irises have fallen over, but I have green cages/gates that can surround them with a minimum of intrusion. Fingers crossed for all the gardens in northern New England during this wild weather.

Pretty blooms! It’s a WINDY wednesday here….not quite 60 degrees yet and with the high winds it feels very chilly! From one extreme to the other!

It is a mop head hydrangea and that is a leaf unfurling. Isn’t it interesting? 🙂

Beautiful photos. The unfurled leaf of the upper left photo looks like the profile of a fish giving a fishy kiss. 😀

That is a leaf unfurling from a mop head hydrangea. It caught my eye because it is so unusual. I like the visual of the fish. 🙂

The last two walks in the park have been on damp mornings and, as you read in yesterday’s post, the spider webs have been outlined beautifully. There are so many of them, but they’re only seen on days like this.

Parts of Indiana dropped into the 40s yesterday morning. What is so rare as flannel robes in June? But we’ve had such a rainy season (can’t call it a spring) that I appreciate taphian’s comment about the “melancholic touch.” Indeed. But melancholy certainly lends itself to expressive photos. Thank you!
