It has been a blast, but as they say all good things come to an end.
- Palm trees
- Long walks on the beach
- Beautiful sunrises and sunsets of pinks and blue
- Shrimp and grits, crab nachos, BBQ and all the other great foods we enjoyed
- Pelicans and Egrets
- Live oaks dripping with moss
- Most of all, we’ll miss living right on this beach and the sight and sound of the ocean
But, traveling this far wouldn’t be quite as nice without the wonderful community of people here.
One of those special people is 90 years old although you’d never know it. I’m not sure the average 60 year old could keep up with her. She keeps herself both physically and mentally fit, plays bocce ball three days a week, walks the trails at Brookgreen Gardens, and has a wicked sense of humor. She also quilts, and she loves to bake cookies. If you are gifted with some of her delicious cookies, you know you are having a special day.
It has been a wonderful winter break. Walking on the treadmill next week is going to be mentally painful. 🙂
I’ve ordered several quilt patterns so will be happy to get back to the sewing machine while I wait for the ground to thaw. The closest fabric store to Murrells Inlets was 70 miles away in Florence. Can you believe it? I made it eight whole weeks without visiting a fabric store. Maybe I’ll treat myself to another one of those special cookies.
If we encounter good weather, we have a couple of stops on the way. If not, we’ll be focused on traveling in a straight line home.
Have a great week, friends. I’ll let you know how much of that snow has melted. 🙂
