🙂 So, picture me in my knee high rubber boots, jacket, and hat so I don’t pick up any ticks or get bit by any yellow jackets. I got this photo out in the wetlands behind the house. I walked around looking for interesting shots, and the perfect leaves are few and far between. I saw some, but they were way too small. It did make me smile as I walked around out there. 🙂
That’s just beautiful. So poetic. Dan has delved into the fleeting charm of the vivid red leaf in its last hurrah contrasted with the stability of the aptly named “evergreen.” I like that, but I’m most intrigued with the depth of this portrait – its display of tints, tones, shades, and textures, presented as a statement that describes why green and red are opposites on the color wheel!
I’m hoping you will enlarge and frame this picture for your home! It’s exceptional!

That’s a stunning photo, Judy. You’ve captured the dichotomy of winter. The leaves falling and the evergreens standing strong. This made me smile.

Sorry you’re out of the big money, but your photo’s just perfect for epitomizing fall, Judy. The beauty of the where you are is priceless, I’m sure.

Isn’t there a saying about catching a falling leaf that is supposed to bring good luck? Perhaps photographing one will also bring good luck 🙂

I was just about to ask if that was Eastern white pine.

Yes, 5 needle bundles.

They are rare here. There is a Western white pine up north, which looks surprisingly different and similar at the same time.

Ooh! I love the colors together, and for some reason thought of a Cardinal in that tree.

I liked Dan’s comment as well. I hadn’t thought of framing it, but I’m liking your suggestion. 🙂
