Raspberries anyone? Kiss or Bliss?
They are kind of plain white doors, but who notices that when you have a house painted bright raspberry pink.
Each one of these Raspberry condos sleeps 14. Winter rental rate averages $1,600-$1,900 a week while the month of July ramps up to $3,840 a week. If you want the pool heated, add $150 per week, and don’t forget $250 for linens and $130 for cleaning.
Got a large family, no pets, no smokers, and want to walk across the street to the beach – sounds like a deal. π

Compared to 7 or 8 hotel rooms and buying all your meals out, that might not be a bad deal. Of course, I’m trying to think of 13 other people I’d want to live with for a week…

Well, there’s that. π

Wow! Pretty! Sounds expensive, but if you divide by 14…..However, in my situation, the majority of us (all under 9 years old!) don’t have any money, and the “no pets” clause is a deal breaker for my grand-puppy, Baloo, (all 80 pounds of him) who needs to go everywhere with the fam, “or else!” He’s even been to the top of Pike’s Peak! I’ll have to pass on this gem, but thanks for letting us know what’s out there for “normal” people to rent!

I just love the looks of the place. It makes me chuckle they do have to cross the street to the beach while I’m sitting right on it in a much older, smaller unit. π The dog issue thing is interesting down here. If you own a unit, you can have as many pets as you like. If you rent, you can’t have any. If you divided by a couple of families, it isn’t bad, but when you add all those non paying but lovable grandkids the price doesn’t come down. π

That’s one heck of a color for a building. Very bright. No wonder the simple white doors get lost when you look at this building. Seems pricey, but maybe it’s a deal. If nothing else you’d always remember where you stayed.

That’s right – Raspberry Kiss or Raspberry Bliss. Hard to forget. π

our beaches have those same prices. and some are painted dark colors like this, but in FL the sun fades the paint quickly and to stay this color would require repeated painting. it is pretty though. and agree on the prices, but people pay more than that to spend a week on a ship at sea. so why not if they have the money

In NH, homes are white, cream, tan, etc. Here, they are the color of a Crayola box. I love looking at them because they are so bright. But, I can only imagine what the hot summer sun does to the paint. And, yes, for 14 it isn’t bad. π

I love the raspberry color of this condo with its bright white doors. Perfect for a vacation spot, but I wouldn’t want to live in that color full time! Lol. No worries…..our wallet would never stretch that far! And if money were not an issue, the pet clause would be the deal breaker.

Did you purposefully underexpose the shot to tone down the brilliance of the raspberry pink walls?

I took the photo with my iPhone 7 then in edit I cropped it and upped the definition. That was all I did. I left the color alone. π

Phew! Not in our budget. Snappy color, though.

What a colour for a house, raspberry, but it goes really well with those white doors and windows. Nice one, Judy.

Well that is certainly an eve-catching color. It is a good deal, if you’ve got a group of people that you travel well with, that is. Certainly cheaper than a bunch of hotels rooms for that many people.
Nice choice.

Love the color, but not the price!

Love that colour, it’s one of my favourites. We sometimes do big extended family holidays and this place would be perfect. We might even need to rent two – sometimes there can be 20 or more of us. Mr ET has a very large family!

See, I knew there would be someone out there with a family big enough to fill that lovely house. π

And by the time you divide the cost between us all, it’s really a great deal. We have done this in the past and it works so well. We work out menus, share the meal costs and preparation and all eat together – it’s pretty noisy. Sometimes we go places all together and sometimes we all do our own thing. So much fun.

I’m surprised by the extra charge for linens and cleaning. That’s something I would expect with a rental. Is it typical to separate out these charges? What’s the logic?

From what I’ve seen, you have an option to bring all your own linens (sheets, towels, etc.) or rent them. I bring my own, but I only have to bring sheets for one bed and our towels. π

Ha! I’m currently looking at Airbnb rentals in Mexico for about $50 a night (for a whole casita, no matter how many people stay)… and the colors of some of the buildings are even wilder than your raspberry building. What a difference a country makes π

Now, that is funny. Good luck with your home shopping. π

Love this color! I suppose if you filled the house, the per person price would be a deal.

If you get a paying crowd, that’s almost reasonable for being across the street from the beach. The color looks more … plummy than raspberry.

Love the bright color! Great for a company of 13, which I hope I never have to do, because I don’t think I would sleep:):) But it’s a great find for doors, Judy!
Now it’s winter, what do you do with all the time you spend in the garden in the summer?

Since I’m in SC right now, I’m outside walking the beach, visiting Brookgreen Gardens, and just sitting on the condo balcony watching the crashing waves. I also brought my sewing machine because that’s my backup for lack of gardening season. I’ve finished several small to medium projects since the first of the year and am now working on a queen sized quilt top. Thanks for asking. π

What?! Envious – it snowed here yesterday – I like snow, but I wouldn’t sit on my deck, haha. What a great idea to bring your sewing machine -did you post some projects?

I haven’t in a while. I know lots of folks aren’t into sewing so I try to lump them together in one post so those that aren’t can go right by. But, I will do that. π

Easy house to find. I bet it is not Airbnb at those prices.

Probably not. There is a rental sign in the yard, and that is how I found the prices. π

Raspberry and white — now there’s a color scheme for instant good times. I love the garnish of palm trees at the corners. However, I can’t imagine what the place sounds like with all units occupied fully. Yikes! But what fun for those who don’t need sleep!

I should have explained better. There are two units – one on each side. Each one sleeps 14. So, I’m thinking if you had a couple of grown kids and a passel of grands, it would be good. π

Thanks — yes, I was picturing multiple units, not just two. I do particularly like the part about the passel of grands.

Nope! Not for me. Color doesn’t bother me, but they look small. They may be condos with bunk beds and lots of noise from 14 people above, below, or beside you. For me, that wouldn’t be a ‘vacation.’
LikeLiked by 1 person
But, those 14 people would be family or friends – you might not hear the noise. π

Well THAT’s attention getting, Isn’t it?! Perfect choice for windows and doors Judy. As for the price, it’s the add-ons that get you – and the thought of sharing the place with 13 other people!!!
