I want a bite that includes one of the bees.

You and me both. š They make decadent pastries so I can only imagine what is underneath. š

It’s a good thing I was enjoying a pastry and a maple latte when I first saw it. š

They are famous for their mice. Yep, milk and dark chocolate mice. It’s a hoot. š

That’s so cute! I too would want a bee on my slice. I think I’d make extra bees so everyone could have one on their slice.
Now, I’m wondering what cake pan was used to make that shape? Going to go look on YouTube.
Your timing is perfect b/c I have cakes on my brain -He-Man’s birthday is coming up fast. I am thinking about what cake to make him. This one with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup frosting might delight us both. Me the cake aesthetics, and him his favorite flavors. š

What a great idea. I googled skip cake pans and can’t believe that there are several. And, they are so cute. Please be sure to post a photo if you make one. Look on their site because they sell the bees. š Google Burdicks chocolates, Walpole, NH.

Oh Thank you for the added information. I looked on Amazon for Sphere pans. There’s a spendy 3 set there. I’m thinking I may have a Stainless Steel mixing bowl that might work…just need to double check to see if it’s oven proof. LOL! That would be a disaster if not.

Wow, what a creation!! It’s probably much too sweet for me, but I love the bees and the beautifully rendered idea.

Maybe I have a hoarding strain in me, but I couldn’t bear to cut into that cute little skep (?) ! I’d save it to show company – “Look what I’VE got and you don’t!”

I think that was their attitude because it wasn’t for sale. š

A work of art! I think Iād be like some little kids I see at weddings who swipe a finger through the wedding cake. Just one taste!

I recognized the maker immediately. Burdick’s chocolates are to die for! š Were they selling ‘bees’ separately?

YES! I love Walpole and cannot go there without a visit to Burdicks. I always love that you can enjoy amazing food and drink in that small downtown. š

My brothers-in-law started keeping a hive this year. If they ever need a special cake, I am going to steal this fabulous idea.

Now, that would be perfect. š We thought about keeping bees, but it is interesting how sometimes the hive just picks up and leaves. A friend lost hers three times and had to decide that maybe that wasn’t the right hobby for her. I wish you brothers-in-law all the best. You could be getting some sweet Christmas presents in the future.:-)

It’s work and care and attention, for sure. It’s fascinating to hear the process. They’ve already had some bumps but asked expert advice and are coming along. I feel like they are saving the world one bee at a time.
