Thursday Doors

Hello from the Palmetto State and my patio door.  🙂

We’re settled into a very comfortable condo in Murrells Inlet and enjoying the view and sounds of the ocean even on a gray and foggy day.

Did I mention it is 70°F? So, although I can’t see very far in the distance, I can still get in my daily walk to the jetty and be amazed by Mother Nature’s creatures that I run across.

My sewing machine is set up in a perfect little spot, I enjoyed lunch out with friends yesterday, and I’m anticipating my first walk at Brookgreen Gardens.

Life is good this first week of 2019 with special thanks to a Mainer who is renting us her very nice condo. 🙂

I will not envy Judy. Envy is really a sin.
I will not en… well, maybe it could be seen as just a small sin?
Tee hee — very happy for you, Judy. Where are you enjoying such temperate climes, my blogger friend?

    • Murrells Inlet, South Caroline, and it is warmer than it has been in years. Yesterday, it was 70ish and they said a year ago it had been 9. I am enjoying every warm moment but keep thinking if it is 70 in SC the first week in January what will the summer weather bring to all of us. Oh well, I’ll push that aside for now and just enjoy wearing a t-shirt. 🙂

  2. Although this weirdo Mainer loves winter, the condo on the beach looks lovely. Enjoy your stay. Looking forward to pictures.

Congrats on your getaway! You may well have escaped the NE just in time.. Enjoy your 70deg days! We’re taking (God willing) a Caribbean cruise in Feb to escape the winter.

The patio doors are perfect for those warm weather days ahead and watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Enjoy your walks with Mother Nature while I try to scrub the ‘green with envy’ off of me! Lol.

  11. I admit to loving winter for the most part (but not the part where it rains rather than snows), but I’m thrilled to read that you’re back on the warmth. How long will you be there? I hope it’s for a good long time. Soon I’ll be headed to Arizona to visit my parents for ten days, so I’ll get to enjoy a bit of warmth or “warmth” (certainly relative warmth) and sunshine.

Guess you know we awoke to a white landscape in New Hampshire this morning. Ahhh…. to be somewhere where it is 70° sounds heavenly.

So nice to see you enjoying that little piece of paradise again! The condo is beautiful and so is your weather. It’s unseasonably warm here so far – 35 – 40-ish with very little snow.
Looking forward to seeing more of your nature shots, especially the turtles lined up on the branch, sunning their pointy little noses without a care in the world!

    • I do love those turtles so I’m sure they’ll make there way here again. Glad you’re not having to shovel much and enjoying warmer temps. I think I am anyway because then I stop and wonder what the summer temps will bring if the winter is this warm. 🙂

  18. It sounds completely lovely. It hasn’t been terribly cold here, either, actually — not yet, anyway. But it’s early. There’s plenty of time for it to get wicked out there.

70 degrees? Ocean sounds? Ahhh, winter. You know how to do it, right down to the corner for the sewing machine. It looks wonderful and I do believe I can hear that shush of the ocean in that photo with the footprints. So far Indiana has had an oddly warm but very wet season. It’s far from over, though, and I hear rumors of some rude arctic air headed our way, so I look forward to warming up in your photos! I hope you have a great time there!

    • I am drinking coffee, watching the local news and just heard that this weekend is the very totally dry weekend since the first of November. They have standing water everywhere here. Mother Nature has sure shaken up the weather for all of us. 🙂

Yikes. I bet everyone is grateful to you for bringing the dry weekend with you. You got that right about Mother Nature — a year ago we were at 13 or something like that and this year tickling 50. Goofy. Sipping coffee by the ocean sounds like a very good way to cope!

It’s hard to believe that it’s Saturday and I’m just getting to your Thursday Doors post. It’s also hard to believe that you aren’t :”enjoying” the cold drenching rain we’re getting today.

I’m happy for you, Judy. The option to open a patio door and feel 70 degrees is perhaps too tempting to pass up. Enjoy your stay. We’ll try to keep the roads clear, if this rain ever turns to snow.

You are not very far from me Judy and Brookgreen Gardens is truly wonderful. You should try to make a day trip to Magnolia Plantation outside of Charleston. The blue herons are beginning to nest as we speak! This time last year we had a rate ice storm and 20 degrees for a week! What a difference a year makes!

I was hoping you went south to S. Carolina! And warm temps to boot!

Nice place to be in and a lovely view! But what was that on the beach?

Happy New Year and Happy Week!
