Act of Kindness

I feel like a rant this morning about the so called news, but instead of adding to the noise in your life, I’ll show you some sights from my past week that made me smile.

For your chuckle of the morning, I want to tell you about a burger and fries meal we were enjoying at River City when a monster of a meal came out of the kitchen. The couple grabbed their phones to take photos, so I asked if they minded if I took one. They laughed and invited me over. Never have I seen a burger like that. Could you eat that?

As we all head out to another pot-hole news filled week, remember one thing – if you’re looking for factual information about current events, dig for them yourself. The news shows are all about entertainment, ratings, and earnings.

Go forth, be safe, be happy, and by all means fact check. πŸ™‚

You definitely made my heart smile this morning! 😊Thanks for all of the great photos, Judy! Beautiful photos on your IG, too. Ugh! That burger must have a year’s worth of Smart Points! It doesn’t even tempt me. Yes, fact checking is key! It’s going to be another roller coaster of a week for us all! Enjoy another week in the sunshine, my friend!πŸ’—

Love the photos! That burger is ginormous. I’m guessing it’s knife and fork work. Worth a try, maybe if I was 30 years younger. You know I agree with you on the “news” and the search for facts. Good hunting!

  3. Beautiful photos, although the one with enormous burger looks a little stomach-churning to me. As for fact checking…I always make it a habit to read the news from reputable sources. But even here you must be careful as some trolls masquerade as reputable sources. Luckily, my husband is a computer geek and has taught me how to double check. Stay well!

Thank you for all! These images went a long way to stretching my mouth upwards instead of downwards, and it was a full-on LOL at “container gardening”! Your fabric landscape is incredible; I never can believe what you do with fabric. (Always remember I made my dolls’ clothes with Scotch tape.)

But I wouldn’t mind a good rant. Thanks for your words of wisdom: check facts and look for the turtles in life.

‘OMG’ is right– that burger meal is obscene, haha! Enough to feed a family of four!
Loved esp. the pic of the turtles and the jean planters– I wonder how they did that?

    • It really is obscene. πŸ™‚ I’m not sure how they do the planters, but there is some type of mannequin/mold in the jeans so they can be set up. There were a half a dozen or so but these were the cutest. I’m going out there in a couple of weeks to a luncheon. I’ll see if I can peek around the planter.

OMGOSH!!!! So, I see the beer (not a beer person, actually!) and think, “Hmmmm, looks refreshing, but not for me!” Then I see the pants and think, “WOW! That is really cute and clever!” Then I see the flowers and orchid and feel a bit inferior because those won’t ever bloom under my clumsy hands! Then I see the plate of food, but since I just had two slices of blackberry toast I just go “Oh, okay!” Then I see the clueless duck and think, “Awww! Cutie! Now THIS is my fave of the collection!” BUT WHOA!!!! WAIT A SEC!!!! Then I see the TURTLES and my heart skips a beat! THEY’RE BACK! AT A NEW LOCATION! I LOVE THEM! How smart of them to line up in a circular size sequenced pattern on a circular dock! Then I see the collage and the quilt and think, “Well if it wasn’t for those turtles, these would be my faves of the lot!” AND THEN!…….I go back to see the turtles again and realize I can click on photo titles and I see THE TURTLES ARE JUST FOR ME!!!!!!! After that, the jumbo burger doesn’t do a thing for my eyes or stomach! I just love my turtles and say, “Thanks for thinking of me, Judy!”
I wonder if that’s a mom and dad out for a sunny sit with their three kids (two might be twins?) and grandma and gramps along for the fun? Or maybe mom and dad invited the teenagers to show em how much responsibility is required when you choose to be a parent….????? Cute, cute, CUTE!

    • There was not one turtle on the logs in the water when I was there Friday, but then I walked around and there were those guys all lined up like they were just waiting for me to show up with my camera. I actually had a ‘camera’ with me that day so click away I did, and all I kept thinking was Joyce will love how they are all lined up. So, happy Monday, friend, from me to you with best wishes for a great week. πŸ™‚

Thank you! You, too – on a great week ahead! Sorry to have hogged all the comment space today, but coming here is like starting the day with my coffee and a visit with a very nice group of friends!

Those turtles are too cute. I just love them. Guess they gave up their usual log. Lol.

The jeans planter is quite an eye catcher. Love it!

Also love your fabric landscape. Beautiful. Flowers are beautiful as well. A hint of spring!

The burger meal would feed a small family. I just don’t understand why they would heap such a ridiculous amount of food on a plate for one person to eat. I would’ve eaten from my take home doggy bag for several more days!!

The less said about the news the better!!

Enjoy the butterfly workshop and your company. Sounds like a fun time ahead.

    • One of the interesting things about the turtles this year is that there are small ones. In the past, they seemed to be more the same size. Love those little guys. That burger made me think of those food eating contests. I could hardly believe it. Yes, less it better when it comes to what they call news.

That meal doesn’t look like anything I’d eat, but *hey* to each their own. I’m cool with that as long as it’s factual.

I could not agree more about fact checking. What is the world coming to with the continual stream of untruths. We are following the US election with interest.
Love your photos especially the turtles. πŸ’•

    • Politics is one segment for sure, but the new virus is the one that is driving me nuts. The information is all over the board and no two sites tell the same tale. I understand there are no solutions at this point, but couldn’t the numbers and reasoning add up. They say buy something, then the shelves empty, so they say don’t buy it. I just think the news is adding to the already chaotic situation. Small rant – sorry. πŸ™‚

      • germac4 says:

I agree re the virus … very confusing for the average person. Paul has worked in various health areas for years and gets very frustrated at the lack of reliable medical sources.

      • You hit the nail on the head using the word, reliable. I saw a chart with stats regarding those stricken, ill, and died. The only problem was the numbers didn’t add up. It drives their ratings up, but it causes hoarding and empty shelves as a result. Not good for any of us plus we don’t have reliable info in order to respond if we did come down with symptoms.

  15. That burger looks epic! I’m sure I could tackle it. πŸ˜… I so enjoyed your happy photos, Judy. Have great week as you search for the truth amongst all the spin and obfuscation. 😳

  16. That burger looks awful! But, I do have my eye on those well-done french fries… yummm! I love how all the turtles lined up according to size.

Amen about fact checking! Just today I was telling someone to STOP sending and posting stuff that they have no idea is true! I am horrified to what people believe!

As for the burger… I would enjoy taking pictures of it but could not eat it. I just can’t handle that much food and that much fried food.

Thanks for making me smile as I am enraged with all the garbage on the news… β€œall news!”

  19. Your view while having a beer was lovely and OMgosh! That burger is incredible. As Guy Fieri would say, “That’s a heart attack on a bun!” Did they moan with pleasure as they consumed it?
I bet it was rich, rich, rich!

Did you make the quilted landscape? It’s just lovely!

Yes, to fact checking on your own!

  22. The pictures made me smile, all of them. Especially the plants growing from the jeans. And I’m sad to say you’re right about most news these days. But it could be even worse: could be the British tabloids. They are a crime.

  23. Goodness, that burger could feed a whole family. I wonder what it costs? That’s a nice piece of quilted artwork. And what is that other meal? It looks tasty. Here the news is full of half truths and exaggerations.
